Field Mapping

Over the years cemetery maps become inaccurate depictions of the cemetery property. A Field Mapping survey, to evaluate those changes, may be required to produce detailed drawings that are true depictions of the cemetery property.

We use a number of Field Mapping methods to aid us in obtaining the highest accuracy possible by combining GPS survey and onsite drafts to collect details of the cemetery property and infrastructure.

We begin our site survey with a walkthrough of the cemetery property, collecting GPS data and checking measurements of walkways, tree lines, roadways, building, gates and other identifying features. We add the location of park benches, water lines, drainage systems and fencing that can be used as visual landmarks on your maps.

We also use Ground Penetrating Radar to survey edges of roadways and areas suspected of encroaching on adjoining grave space.

Finally, we put together a media study of your cemetery that includes photographic and site videos of key areas. The media files aid us in mapping and reviewing questionable areas and terrain.
